Government Polytechnic College for Women, Coimbatore offer Diploma Courses in Engineering on fulltime basis to women students selected according to State Govt, norms. Also it is empowered to offer need based Part Time courses for men and women and award Certificates under other Projects. QUALIFICATION FOR ADMISSION

Pass in S.S.L.C. or X standard of Tamil Nadu High Schools by the Director of School Education / Secondary Education Board, Tamil Nadu.

A.EDUCATIONAL ELIGIBILITIES S.S.L.C Pass or equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu school education.

B.ELIGIBILITY OF MARK
According to the Higher education Department, the released mark eligibility to admission for the Diploma Courses in the academic year 2002-2003, is pass in the S.S.L.C Examination. Hence, to get admission in the first year Engineering and Modern Office Practice, the students should have passed atleast with the minimum marks.

MODE OF SELECTION

Regular Diploma Courses

Selection of eligible candidates for the courses in the Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions will be made based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination and the ranking will be done in the order of total marks secured by the candidates in the SSLC / Equivalent examination following communal reservation. In respect of candidates whose maximum marks in the qualifying examination more than 500 as per scheme, the maximum marks shall be reduced to a base of 500 and rank arrived at along with other candidates.
